Reiki is typically carried out on a massage table and clients are fully clothed.
It is advisable that shoes, glasses and any bulky jewellery is removed prior to healing.
The lights are lowered and relaxing music is played.
A practioner may use candles and/or oils to help promote a relaxed state.
Blankets and eye masks are provided for your use.
Throughout the session the practioner typically remains silent, allowing the client to achieve a deeper state of relaxation.
The practioner will place their hands lightly on or just above your body.
Reiki is not a replacement for traditional medical care, however it can be used as a safe complementary therapy either on its own or alongside other treatments.
